** Media Advisory ** 2018 Special Olympics USA Games to Announce New Ways the Seattle Community and Beyond Can Support Athletes

Press Conference at Amazon Headquarters on Wednesday, June 6 at 9:00 a.m.

SEATTLE – With less than 30 days until the Opening Ceremony on July 1, the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will announce additional support from Amazon and other corporate partners as well as new ways the general public can support the athletes competing at the upcoming USA Games.  Scheduled announcements include:

  • New ways to support the USA Games through Amazon Smile, Alexa and an Amazon-sponsored fundraising campaign in the South Lake Union and Denny Triangle neighborhoods.
  • A text-to-donate campaign from T-Mobile.
  • New corporate partners who’ve pledged their support for the USA Games.

Light breakfast pastries and coffee will be provided by FareStart. In addition, the Amazon Choir and the company’s acapella group, Vocally Self Critical, will perform. The Amazon singers will be part of the USA Games choir performing at the Opening Ceremony at Husky Stadium.

2018 USA Games President and CEO Beth Knox will be on hand along with Beth Galetti, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Amazon, and Milan Uzelac, owner of restaurant 2120.
