Mobile App Puts Users in Front Row Seat at 2018 Special Olympics USA Games

Free App Provides Comprehensive Access to Sports Schedules, Breaking News, Social Media and Events Taking Place During Next Week’s Games in Seattle

SEATTLEJune 30, 2018 – Organizers of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games today announced the launch of a new mobile app that will make tracking next week’s event a lot easier for spectators, media and athletes. The new app is developed by AppInteract, one of the fastest-growing mobile app platforms built on Microsoft Azure.

“There’s going to be a lot of moving parts to next week’s event and this app will be a tremendously useful tool in keeping everyone connected,” said Eric Corning, Vice President of Production for the Special Olympics USA Games. “We’re really excited to see this go live and are already using it to communicate more effectively with everyone planning to attend and track next week’s event.”

During the week of July 1 – 6, more than 4,000 Special Olympics athletes and coaches from across the nation, along with tens of thousands of family members, volunteers and spectators, will gather across Greater Seattle for events and competitions in 14 team and individual sports.

The new app can be downloaded by iOS users searching SpecialOlympicsUSAGames at the iTunes app store (iOS : Special Olympics iOS) and by Android users at the Google Play app store (Android : Special Olympics Andr) online. The app is free and provides easy access to useful information including: sports schedules, venue information, details on athletes and teams, events and ceremonies as well as updated social media and news coming out of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games. The app also provides information on the history of the Games, a gallery of images and useful tourism information on the Greater Seattle area.
