WHY BE AN AMBASSADOR? I first volunteered for Special Olympics in 1999 in college at N.C. State. Now, I have a son who is a special needs kid so when they asked for my help here, I was happy to say yes.

ON COMPETING AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL: It’s fun. These athletes have to train year round, they have to watch their diet, so it’s a serious competition. But the athletes also have fun and it’s fun to watch them compete.

WHAT SEATTLE SPOT SHOULD PEOPLE VISIT? Get out on the lake or hike around the water. The weather will be nice but it’s not hot and humid like a lot of places. Get out and enjoy it!
