WHY BE AN AMBASSADOR? I read a book by Maria Shriver where she discussed her mom, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who started Special Olympics. The way she wrote about her family’s involvement in the start of Special Olympics was really inspiring. It made me want to become more involved.

ADVICE FOR PERFORMING AT A HIGH LEVEL: My two cents: Know that you’re prepared for this day and you’re going to do well. Be confident, strong, and have fun.

HOW WILL THE GAMES PLAY IN SEATTLE? I think there will be so much love, admiration, and respect it’s going to blow the roof off.

WHAT TO DO ON A DAY OFF: All the usual things are great. The Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, A ferry boat ride. But my favorite thing to do in the city is to go to Discovery Park in Magnolia and hike the loop trail. It’s an incredible three mile hike and you get to see the water, fields, wildflowers, coves, and forest all in about an hour.
