Karen Komoto

Karen Komoto joined the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in May of 2016 as the Director of Finance.  With over 30 years of Corporate and Non-Profit accounting, her diverse background offers the Games a variety of experience in budgeting, financial statement preparation, tax reporting and cash flow management.

Prior to joining the USA Games, Karen was the Director of Finance for Seafair and the Seafair Foundation.  While with Seafair, her role morphed outside of the traditional accounting functions when she took over all aspects of ticketing for their large-scale events.  Her role grew to include managing the internship program, which hosted 12-15 college students each summer as well as producing some killer staff and volunteer celebrations.

Karen is a native of Seattle and has 2 grown children.  She currently resides in Edmonds where she enjoys reading, traveling, time spent with her children, working in her yard and spending as much time as she can at a family cabin on Lake Ki where she spent her childhood summers.
