Jacob Green
RESUME: Defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks for 12 years. Currently the VP of Major Gifts and Endowments for the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University.
WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE AN AMBASSADOR? My first thought was to give something back to the state of Washington and the Seattle area. I had also talked to Cortez Kennedy before his passing about his involvement in the USA Games and I thought that was a real cool thing for him to be doing, lending his name to such a great thing. After he passed I thought I could pitch in and lend a hand.
ADVICE FOR COMPETITORS: Relax, have fun, and do the best you can. Those are the three things in any sport that can help you. You put in all the work and you reward yourself by competing. Everyone can’t get first, but if you’re competing and having fun that’s all you can ask for.
HOW WILL SEATTLE FANS REACT TO THE GAMES? This will be a great time for the fans in Seattle. The Seahawks, the Mariners and the Sounders are behind it. It’s going to be big. It’s a fun time to do it and the weather will be great, too.
WHAT TO DO ON A DAY OFF IN SEATTLE? Take in the sights at the Pike Place Market and maybe go out to Snoqualmie Falls. The summer is the best time to be in Seattle so get out and enjoy it.
